Here are my favorite pies
for summer:
Strawberry Pie
Nothing is better than the
sweet juiciness of a fresh strawberry. This
pie uses both fresh and cooked berries and
is delicious.
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
When I can get both
fresh strawberries and fresh rhubarb from
my local farm stand, nothing can stop me
from making a yummy Strawberry Rhubarb Pie!
Strawberry Blueberry Pie
Catch the end
of the strawberries and the beginning of
the blueberries and make this colorful pie
for July 4th!
Blueberry Pie
One of the easiest (nothing
to chop or peel) and best of summer.
Blueberry Blueberry Pie
This pie copies
the Strawberry Pie recipe, using both cooked
and fresh berries. A summer delight.
Blueberry Rhubarb Pie
A delicious combination,
with the tart rhubarb somehow bringing out
the flavor of the blue berries.
Blueberry Cranberry Pie
Okay, I know the
cranberries aren't yet in season, but the
blueberries are, and frozen cranberries can
make this possible for a nice change in summer.
Blueberry Peach Pie
This is one of my favorite
combinations, most delicious in the summer
toward the end of blueberry season and the
beginning of peach. Yum!
Cherry Pie
Pitting cherries takes a bit
of time but is worth the effort!
Cherry Clafouti
Although it's not really
a pie, it's close enough, and made with fresh
cherries is both traditional and delicious.
Peach Pie
Nothing can beat a fresh baked
Peach Pie, just a simple pie that focuses
totally on the fruit.
Peach Strawberry Pie
You might find some
late strawberries and make this gem. The
strawberries add a tanginess that complements
the peaches.
Raspberry Pie
Fresh local raspberries mean
that it's time to bake this delicious pie,
again using a combination of fresh and cooked
fruit.
Bumbleberry Pie
Take advantage of the range
of berries available and make this ever-changing
treat, with blueberries, blackberries, raspberries,
and/or huckleberries.
Mango Pie
We don't get fresh mangos too
often, but they sure make a good and unusual
pie!
